Shatan Greene – Living to become an Educator
Becoming a teacher or an educator of young minds is not an easy feat, and it’s even harder to learn the true value of education. It takes realization and experience to have a deep understanding of the importance of education. With that being said, only a select few are able to meet that understanding, and one of them is Shatan Greene.
A number of experiences led Shatan Greene to realize what education really meant and all it has to offer. Some of these experiences are nice and heartwarming while others are bitter and cold. One of these tragic experiences is the time when his brother was murdered while Shatan Greene was only 12 years old. This led him to realize the opportunities that education can offer. Mr Greene wanted to get out of the environment that took his brother away and having a proper education gave him that option.
Another important realization for Shatan Greene is the time that his parents opted to take care of their grandchildren as their own. This is when Shatan realized that family is not just a group of people and it’s not just a word. Family is following one’s heart and it doesn’t take a special amount of education to realize that.
