Does Transition America = JL Kirk Associates? Scam artists Brentwood Tennessee
It’s too bad that Ed Wozniak and his crew continue to con and steal from people. Kirk Leipzig is Ed’s puppet master and continues to do the same thing that he did at J L Kirk and Associates.
I’m glad that Amanda was ‘assisted’ by Wozniak. Let’s see what happens in the next few months and what executive level job she lands. Her initial entry is spot on except for the part stating that Transition/Transforming America had moved.
My dealings with slick Eddie have been horrible at best. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau after TA refused to return my money. After dealing with these crooks for 2 months, I realized that they don’t have the ‘ins’ with the hiring managers. They don’t have an exclusive job posting site. Their career counseling is a joke and that they were J L Kirk and Associates reincarnated. The BBB offered us the opportunity to go to arbitration to resolve the issue but Eddie declined to go through that process. He knew that he would lose. Do a search of Transition/Transforming America on the BBB site and see what they have to say. It will be updated the week of 4/7.
Slick Eddie wants to defer the real issues by blaming me, the person who paid them $3,450 (yes Amanda, they change the price for how much they believe they can con from someone) instead of conducting business as an honest business person would do. If you have a disgruntled client, you do everthing in your power, including arbitration, to satisfy that client.
Don’t let Eddie deny that they are not an off-shoot of J L Kirk and Associates. I have many connections between the two companies. The 2 easiest to explain are, #1 I have 3 emails that were mistakenly forwarded to me by TA’s VP Rick Hirsch on 2/11/08. They were sent to him by Kirk Leipzig on 2/5/08. #2. The resume template they use was authored by a guy named Tom Beal. Tom Beal is an ex-employee of J L Kirk. I could list more but it will come out in later in a different media venue.
Stay as far away from these snake oil salesmen. Look up J L Kirk and Associates on ripoff report, google them and see the pattern. I won’t be surprised by the response that slick Eddie’s puts here on the ripoff report. Obviously he is nervous about his con being exposed if he is even looking at this report. Disregard anything that this con man states.
DO NOT pay them money or waste your time with Transition/Transforming America. Tell everyone you know about these crooks. They need to be put out of business.

Transition America – Interview small talk Pays Off
I was reading an article the other day, and one “rule” that was tendered was to never volunteer personal information during an interview, even if asked.
Transition America:”While there is some truth to this, as blanket advice it’s misleading at best. As an employer, I do ask some non-work-related questions during interviews and I’m not impressed by candidates who are evasive or unresponsive says”
There are many laws about what interviewers can and can’t ask, and non-work-related comprise much of the list of forbidden questions. Asking about your living situation or health, for example, are both illegal. A good interviewer won’t ask these types of questions. (How to respond if an interviewer does ask these types of questions is a subject outside the scope of this article, but it’s covered in most interviewing books.)
In contrast, it’s not uncommon to face questions about hobbies, for example. Or warm up “chit-chat” like, “Any big plans for the upcoming holiday weekend?” These generally aren’t loaded questions, but there are good answers and bad answers.
When describing hobbies, for example, share the ones that are relevant to the job or professional skills, or are likely to be viewed positively. Perhaps you belong to Toastmasters or spend your Saturday mornings teaching reading at a local library. In contrast, there is no need to mention that you spend Friday nights playing poker or that you ride with a local bike gang on weekends.
During chit-chat, don’t volunteer excessively personal information. “I’m going north camping over the holiday weekend” is fine. “I just went through a painful divorce and I’m meeting with my financial planner to try to put my finances in order” is simply too much information. Small talk about golfing or cooking is fine; religion and politics are completely taboo.
Your ability to chat may actually be an important part of the interview, and it may be evaluated. After all, in many jobs, the ability to make small talk – comfortably and appropriately – is essential, according to Transition America.

Transition America – military program
At Transition America the fastest growing divisions, since Transition America are an approved contractor of the government/military, is to equip our men and woman that are leaving the military with the proper tools and support to make their transition into civilian life as smooth as possible. Without Transition America’s help, you will end up leaving money on the table during negotiations, and will spend more time unemployed wondering why you can’t get hired with all the skill sets you took from the military.
Transition America: “Each of the military services now operates transition seminars known to many as TAP classes, or outplacement seminars, which is a great start in the right direction, but may not offer “insider information” on how to negotiate a better salary, or where to find the hidden job market.”
Transition America: “Plus if you’ve already transitioned, you may not be eligible to attend these classes as a refresher as you are about to hit the job market again: so where do you turn?”“Of course there are a myriad of books and articles that attempt to give you some insight on different aspects of the job hunt, but there is so much to cover and there are many different viewpoints, it can be confusing to some,” – added Transition America.
TRANSITION AMERICA:
Also Transition America notices that landing a great job is not just about getting an offer and earning a paycheck. Loving your job is about finding the right company culture for you, according to Transition America, the Nation’s Premier Career Search Specialist. It’s about working in an environment aligned with your values and beliefs. Working at a company with values inconsistent with yours is stressful and unrewarding. As Transition America said: ‘The quality of your work life is also directly correlated to your supervisor’s attitudes, values, and beliefs. A person’s values significantly affect their behavior and hence how you are treated. No matter how great the position, if you’re working in a caustic, understaffed, and unethical culture, you’ll feel unfulfilled.”
According to Transition America you have to plan effectively for the week ahead. To do that you should answer the Transition America’s question: “What’s next in my search?”. Transition America explained: “Because … you get just 24 hours each day. After eating, sleeping, etc., you have about 14 hours to spend looking for work. You’ll never get those hours back. Make the most of them! It’s been said that every hour of planning saves five hours of doing. So start spending an hour every week scheduling what’s next in your job search.“
And back to Transition America’s discussion : ‘ Each military installation offers or participates in an outplacement program that is usually offered near the end of your military career. Perhaps, a little too near the end, as most of us would like to know where our next paycheck will be coming from well before we hang up the uniform. “

Overcoming the ‘Education Requirements’ by Transition America
Transition America:” It happens every day. A company downsizes or outsources and suddenly, without warning, experienced employees are out on the street looking for new jobs. For many, the transition period will be brief, but for others whose skills do not translate well to paper, the search can be a long, drawn out and sometimes humiliating experience.”
The majority of American workers do not have college educations. Many of them, however, have been risen to positions of responsibility with employers who promoted them into supervisory or management positions as a reward for their performance on the job. These employees should make sure that their resumes reflect those accomplishments. Anytime a job seeker can list quantitative results, promotions, awards and accolades they need to do so, says Transition America, the Nation’s Premier Search Specialist. Actual results that are achieved on the job gives the perspective employer an idea of what the applicant will be able to do for them.
Transition America partners with their clients to help them identify their skills and knowledge and creates a resume that incorporates their on the job training, continuing education as well as other skills learned that their client may have obtained as a result of their own initiative.

Job Search Secrets for Tough Times
According to Transition America, it’s not just what you know that will get you hired- It’s who you know- And — more importantly — who knows you.
Here are 3 job search secrets that can get you hired, even in tough times…
1. Employee Referral Programs — Get an Advocate
“In this economy, a number of companies refuse to interview candidates who aren’t referred by employees,”.
Large corporations use referral programs to encourage employees to submit names of people they know for open positions- This screening process makes sense, since like attracts like — talented employees often have talented friends- And companies are willing to pay $500, $1,000 — and more — to employees who refer new hires.
So it pays to start making friends at big companies you want to work for.
Your Lesson: The best way to learn about employee referral programs is to strike up a relationship with someone at your target company — and ask- A simple email will do- Then, keep in touch- Your contact may end up walking your resume into a hiring manager’s office- You get hired and your “advocate” gets a cash award — win-win!
2. Network from the Inside — Create Your Own Job
From my client files this week comes the story of “Josh” from Toronto, a marketing manager for a multi-national high-tech firm. (more…)
